spring break bike boogy

So this spring break I made plans to bike from my home in Richmond to my home in Staunton. The plan was to spend four nights or so, camping at various lakes, mountains and apartments. Unfortunately, my trip was cut short by a flat tire when I was within 30 miles of home and as disheartening as that is, I'm gonna try to finish it at some point this week. Just for posterity. Or princible. Or pride. One of those.

Anyway, it was a pretty fun trip, I got to see a lot of Virginia country side and road kill I hadn't seen before and put myself up to another challenge that whooped my ass. Personally it was much easier than hiking. Downhills are cake, you're always around civilization and food is everywhere. That said, I much prefer hiking. While it is more lonely and desolate you get a real feel for yourself and your surroundings. While biking I felt more like a tourist than a visitor in the areas I visited. I didn't really get to talk to any locals and can't say I can take away with me any craaaaazy stories from this trip. It was a lot of fun though and I would do it again. If I ever do a real long distance bike I would probably do it with other people instead of by myself.

A google map of the trip.

Now, here's some pictures:
